Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies exist on FriendsWithTools. There's little to explain: there aren't any. We don't set cookies ourselves, and no third party sets one either. Your session and your theme preference are kept in your browser's local storage instead.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They let a site remember who you are between page loads so you don't have to log in on every click.

FriendsWithTools does not set any cookies of its own: no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, nothing to remember you between visits. Your session and your theme preference live in your browser's local storage instead, which is a different mechanism (see below).

Your session and preferences (not cookies)

These aren't cookies, but they're the closest thing to what this policy is about, so we're documenting them here too.

Login session: Supabase, our authentication provider, keeps your session in your browser's local storage after you sign in. It stays until you sign out or clear your browser's site data.
Theme preference: Whether you chose light or dark mode is stored locally under the key fw-tools-theme. First-party, no expiration.

Local storage isn't sent to a server automatically the way a cookie is. It's read only by the scripts running on this site. Clearing your browser's site data for FriendsWithTools will sign you out and reset your theme to your system default.

Third-party cookies

There are none. No page on this site loads a third-party script that sets a cookie. If you subscribe, the payment itself happens on Stripe's own checkout page, on Stripe's domain, under Stripe's privacy policy; any cookie set there belongs to that page, not to FriendsWithTools.

Managing cookies in your browser

Every major browser lets you view, delete, and block cookies. Here's where to find those controls:

Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
Safari: Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data
Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies

FriendsWithTools doesn't set any cookies of its own, so blocking or clearing cookies in your browser won't affect signing in or using the site. That's controlled by local storage instead (see above).
